Key things:

1.. Very slow.
2.. Keep getting told i don't have permission to things even after logging in.
3.. Very cluttered.
4.. The old one rocked!!!!!!

They're never giong to please everyone. I for the most part love it, it works much better on the PS3, which is where I do most of my forum browsing. There are a few niggles, but on the whole an improvement :applaud:gr8

posted several times about the permissions. It's because you can't access the cms part of the forum yet. When you log in and get the message just ignore it and click FORUMS on the nav bar. CMS will be available shortly

Slow? really. Which browser are you using? are you accessing the site from a www.lmzf.com link? If you're accessing on an iphone then use tapatalk. A mobile theme will also be installed soon.

Cluttered. Which theme are you using? Don't use vb default unless you really want to. It's ugly and has lots of graphics missing but serves a purpose. I'll refine it when i get chance, more important things to do though (and yes i'll add a todays post link to it) If you don't like the red ones (backgrounds can make them look fussy0 then use the "blue" one at the bottom of the list.

Ah once you get used to it, you will love this like you loved the last, remember the move from the last forums to VB??? the haters were there!!
in the end they all loved it..

give it time, and the Admins will sort all your problems out(apart from the private ones,,,,,,,well they may have a go at those too??)

I found that too - was having problems trying to create a pivot table, glad i'm not the only one.....

From experience the new VB 4.3 software running here should be a lot faster for everyone, and some times change takes a little while getting used to... what you have here now is the latest in forum software, a very powerfull forum where there are loads of mod's available to be used and bolted on... And when the CMS "Content Management Suit" is working and being used on the front page you will all see loads of great information being added there, I'm not sure what's planned for that but I'm sure the guy's have a plan.... ;)

Bare with them guy's in a couple of weeks you will have forgotten about the original site.. ;)

Great job I personally think they have done a great job they have managed to roll it out seamlessly as i for one know just how much work goes into upgrading a forum... :gr8

I did most of the upgrade yesterday, and Wayne has been mostly sorting out the themes and everything else since...

As previously mentioned, I am sure people will get used to it, it just takes a bit of time to adjust.

There are loads of features on here, some I am sure will be thankful of as soon as we get the hang of things. Just give it a few days and then if you still have a problem, bung it in the problem thread created by Admin :gr8.

I like the new look, but I think the simplicity of the old forum has been lost a little. Think we could do with a bit of a tidy up to make it easier on the eyes :) Some forums that in my opinion probably arent necessary for example

My only real gripe is the new emblem. I think the old one looks better :)

This must all have taken a lot of work. Just the amount of time the site was down for suggests that and I'm sure a lot of testing and stuff was done before that as well. My only issue is everything seems to take more clicks than what it did before and the layout isn't as nice. You can't please everyone though, that would be impossible, so I'm not complaining.

Finding styles for vb4 is a total pain as at the moment there only seems to be variations of the default floating around, most skin sites have not updated for the new version due to them moving to the stylevars which means a lot more changes than before.

I have been messing with the stylevars on my test site due to the skin i use not even being considered yet and i must say it is driving me around the bend.

Things like subforums can be changed but not until some of the hacks on the .org have been updated

will take time settling into the new version, as its natural when using other boards have very different uses and functions.

in the long run, the decision to upgrade to this should become more evident for the community. just a little bit of teething trouble is all part and parcel of it all. Im sure it was the same when it happened before. lamzfclanform was on zetaboards/invision boards before the switch the vBulletin wasnt it?

nope, i click on "mark forums read" and it clears all the new posts. works fine (in FF at least)
