Looks more like an image resizer has been installed.

Have check image re-sizer settings,they look to be ok.

Haven't heard from anyone that a different image re-sizer has been installed

Blackheart is the only one i've seen so far without it on. Its on mine too even though it hasn't changed the size of it at all :rofl

mines hosted on a personal server so nothing to do with photobucket .. must be board related ;)

someone has set the limit sizes without knowing what the general sizes are.

my guestimation is its now 400px with by 100px high which stops the bar at the top, which is wrong for things like gamercards etc.

^^^ its 600 x 126 which is enough for the std gamer cards such as the one james is using.
some members on the forum have had images in their sigs which were are large as 600 x 525
really no need for such large sigs.

examples of resized images on this post alone

450px × 150px (scaled to 376px × 125px)
348px × 126px (scaled to 345px × 125px)
450px × 150px (scaled to 376px × 125px)
556px × 203px (scaled to 342px × 125px)
510px × 135px (scaled to 425px × 112px)

any image that is 600 x 126 remains unaffected regardless of file size. although due to server costs, smaller files would be better ie under 100kb

Mark what about folks with playfire sigs like me... I cannot adjust the height of it as far as i am aware as its set by their servers? for the sake of 1 pixel im stuck with a box above it making it even bigger :(

edit: "guideline" being the operative word. At 500px the lettering wasn't sharp so i extended a little...

600 x 125 is the absolute maximum a sig should be anyways. i know the ps3 gamercards are quite long but not high.

its ok to limit the sizes cos it does help with page loading times (except with Sarge's art gallery on his :rofl)

a sig shouldnt be more than 120px in height anyways, Playfire should know that.

well, its a unwritten rule cos banner placements are use in websites and the rectangle shaped banner common used is no bigger than 600px by 120px, so what most ppl go off, like eu ps3 for example.

i wasnt disrespecting you at all, i was just saying its playfire's fault for the dimensions they used when they set up they generators.

the initial 'guideline were set at 500 x 150
too many people are displaying pictures way over this size. on a post that contains a few words, in some cases its taking up a quarter of a page.. not much fun to read through.

forward images to me if you want and i'll resize them and email them back. am off for the next two days so plenty of time on my hands

what a totally pointless argument :( just read back and Gav's comments weren't directed at Kait :( he said playfire sigs we're too high :unsure he only commented cos he knows about sigs. His tone obviously left him open to having it read it many ways. = fail. Irrelevant now cos he's left lmzf :huh

posting that as a member, not admin, and no i'm not having a go at Kait, just dismayed at the way things turn out all the time :(

My sig was at the old guidelines of 500 x 150 now that's reduced to 127 pixels high with a 23 high pixel "click this bar to view the full image" so the display hight is unchanged :)
